I just added the 3600# set without the spacer on my 4x4. When I measured, with the spacer looked like it would be about 3/4" gap. The spacer is about 1". I'll have to check my set up with my trailer hooked up and go from there.

If you have a 3500 with the factory overloads? Another good option is to buy or make extended contact pads for the factory overloads so they engage sooner. I did this on mine and with the combination of air bags and engaging the overloads sooner I can tune my rear suspension to handle about any load with a nice ride.

I had to jack the truck up to get them on so they are always engaged, even with no load. This helped a lot but the ride is very stiff.

I think what was/is happening is that the load caused my rear to sag which engaged the overload spring, therefore the porpoising as it bumped on and off the overload spring but now the Timbrens keep it off the overload spring. Would I have been better off just removing the overload spring and living with the sag?

Anyone have the timbrens on a 2500?

Maybe someone else already brought it up, but with that much tongue weight you need a good equalizer hitch or it wont pull and handle correctly no matter how stiff the rear end is, also making the rear end stiffer than it needs to be puts more strain on the trailer and hitch evertime you hit a bump.

Fwiw my timbrens dont touch the axle unloaded and it rides like stock, I would say you either are missing a spacer on the spring pack or the springs have sagged. Did you buy the truck new?, almost sounds like someone changed the rear height to make the truck sit level.

I do have an equalizer hitch. I bought the truck new so it has not been modified.
