That was another reason I wanted my rig outside...just got back from tellico this weekend....front Dana 60 is leaking pretty good after bashing it into a rock....glad I don't have to smell that in my camper...both Buddies rolled and the one was pretty bad ...he has leaks as well after that roll.

i have a 44' enclosed race car type trailer. it is way over built, i can carry 2 full size rigs in it with living quarters up front. mine has tripple 8k axles and the floor beams are 12"s apart.

did you cut your trailer frame out from under it or did you just add the frame to the stock trailer frame???
can you explain what you did a little better for me please....
I am seriously considering this set-up...it is perfect for what I want
Thanks Mark

I cut off the old axles, then added a 2x6 from front to back of the deck...I started in the middle welding it...I jacked the entire wt. of the camper then worked it out towards the ends to preload the frame as I went...the frame ended up completely straight....I then added a 8" junior I beam on top of the 2x6 to match the existing beam attached to the camper then tapered it at the 4 foot seam of the diamond plate.

I scaled it this weekend coming back from Tellico....Weight is completely loaded with spare parts, right after I fueled up and had 50 gals in the holding tanks
Front/steering axle 4420#
Rear/Drive axle 6740#
Trailer axles 12020#
Gross 23180#
Trailer wt. 15780#
Overall I was very happy with the balance. I could have possibly moved the axles forward 2-3 feet but no more and keep my load / pin wts. where I like them...I would have moved the axles forward but the camper had storage boxes I would have had to move or remove for the wheel wells. It would probably be easier to corner as well.

Hey Mark, not sure if you saw these already but here's a couple of threads with some good info regarding jeeps/buggies and toy haulers...

I like the Campmasters the best, but finding one anywhere out West is almost impossible. I might actually make the drive back East to pick one up.

It's pretty strange that they don't have a distributor out west somewhere, how do you get warranty service if you need it? http://www.trailersforsale.com/ has lots of photos of the Campmaster and Work and Play trailers

I think we settled on the Campmasters but haven't purchased one yet. The only issues I've found with the Campmasters are axle/cargo capacities and possibly height clearance problems. My buggy is pretty low and a more lifted truck might not fit. The minimum length that would work for me is 28' (14' LQ & 13'7" garage area) but you might need the next size up. Dry weight of the 28' is about 6000-7000 lbs so dual 5k axles doesn't give enough capacity. I need to find one with dual 7k axles or a 32' with triple 5k axles. Oh, if you decide to go this route be sure to get the 8.5' wide model and not the 8' wide one.
Trust me, they don't have even one distributor out West. Warranty work can be done through your local RV dealer according to Roadmaster/Campmaster.
