suspension help

i have my truck set up almost perfect for how i use it. i have a 8.5 foot lance camper that adds about 1200lbs which the truck handles fine. i also have a 18 foot horse trailer which the truck also handles fine. the problem is when i use the two together the rear of the truck sags too much for me. i use the two together about 6 weekends a year. would i be better off with timbrens or air bags?

I have a very heavy camper (over 3500#s) I have airbags and they work great the only thing I wish I did different is to have onboard compresser and controls. When you get where you are going and if you take the camper off the ride is real rough.

Kevlar, my 8.5' LanceLite weighs 2300# dry. Are you sure of your weight? I needed air bags just for the camper to get back up to level (no camper package). Airbags also take care of the trailer tongue weight.

Sbrost, you can deflate those airbags and ride in comfort if you carry a portable 12v compressor. Only about $25 most places and it pumps them right up again, also good to fine-tune your pressure on the road. Lousy for tires, takes forever.

Air bags here. Ditto on the compressor. I have an adapter plug for the trailer plug for 12 volt power on the portable compressor. I run about 5-10 lbs empty. Had 45 in them on the last trip. Truck sat level and pin weight was 2700 pounds.

I went the Timbren route,no maintenance and no rolly polly in the corners,if you go timbrens don't overdo the weight rating,I started out with 6000# and went all the way back to 3000# to get what I needed and still have a good ride when loaded. I pull 23000 gross when I have the lq horse trailer in tow.
