Re:Stock truck towing capacity?

It was pretty much stock from a performance stand point the first time I hauled those two. The only thing I really have at this point is the EZ. The stacks may help a little but probably not enough to notice, just an eye catcher more than anything. There are a lot of other mods to it but more for creature comforts than anything still at this point.

Re:Stock truck towing capacity?

I have pulled a 5800lb trailer with no concerns at all, and that was as a stocker. Trailer brakes are a must, pulling is not a problem, but stopping can be. Must be a very defensive driver nowadays with the Fast and Furious crowd out there. I was told to pull the trailer empty, adjust the brakes so that they lock up about 25mph, then load your trailer and adjust as necessary. This will give you a good starting point. Good luck and enjoy your pull.

No problem with what you want to tow. Trailer brakes are a must.

Re:Stock truck towing capacity?

Gentlemen,
The GVWR vs the GCWR gets real confusing. I was looking for a CTD to pull my 30' camper. The book said one thing and the window sticker said another. : For my truck the window sticker said GCWR of 8,800 and the GCWR of 16,000. Meaning that I can only haul a trailer of 9,450??? ??? My book said GCWR of 20,000 and a max trailer wieght of 13,400, but it didn't specify the rear gear ratio. As far as warranty information, just double check everything. Otherwise I'm sure they won't fix any warranty situation. > Love my CTD. ;D
