smarty senior,Level#1 Quad boost fooler= towing bliss

I was towing my 34'TT (8000lbs wet)on #3 and found it running a bit on the hot side 1300-1400EGT's on T/haul in OD in the hills, averaged 1100-1220 on the rolling flats. It also had enough power not to downshift very often. If I kept it out of overdrive the truck was running way cooler, but was a bit loud (2500-2600rpm) to maintain 70MPH on our freeway.

Anyways I changed to level 1 and my temps dropped about 100F across the board. BUt it will downshift earlier now than before on #3

I added the quad boost fooler and it took another 100F off of it and seemed to be closer in power to the #3. It also seemed to hold O/D a lot longer than on #1 alone.
So I found my combination for towing in the mountains. It also feels a tad bit smoother in acceleration but that's probably wishfull thinking on my part.

The short version to that question is YES, but to a certain amount. This is where a piggyback fooler can benefit the 5.9l Thanks to the extra fuel developed by the smarty. It so far seems to be a nice fit for me.

I notice a benefit in cooling which is what I wanted.

Do a search on the smarty boost fooling. You could read for hours.
