Slide in Camper.
Can anyone recommend a slide in camper that won't interfer with towing. Used is a necessity for I have spent my allowance.
I have a regular cab eight footer.

Look for a used 8 footer, this way it wont hang over the rear end and you wont need a hitch extension.I tow up to 6K with my 954wd and the camper on it which weighs about 1600lbs?? you know its there but not bad. I limit myself here cause most of the trips are in the mountains on bad roads.
They're a ways off, but check here for ideas:https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...cat.php?cat=15
I have a Lance like the one pictured and it does not interfere with towing.

Theirs a company called Capri out of Stephenville Tx I think thats where they are at that mkes them. Allmost all of the guys who use them tow a horsetrailer and they dont seem to pricey for a loaded one compared to Lance and the others. You can see some of them at rodeo's cuz thats who use them
I've had two of their bolt on caps w/ walk in doors and rode/lived in a couple more that was the bigger rodeo slideins. The make a good camper for staying on the road, and that's what they're made for. A lot stouter built camper to take the vibration and shock of a lot of miles. The one I went in had roof air and showers, two double bunks, and a sink w/mirror. I'm sure you could get a stove top of anything else you wanted. They were located in Burleson when I bought mine.I had to get a new one when I traded my '90 ctd in for a '95, due to the bed dimensions changing. I used it for about six yrs. I'm guessing, but I had it on two trucks, probably 300Kmiles or so. It was on the trucks from the time I bought them til I sold them. The second one I bought is still on the road. I'm pretty sure the company changed hands notlong after I bought the second one,but I dont know about a change of address.

It is all a matter of opinion on what length slide-in camper interferes with towing!! I tow my Jeep on a 16' tandem trailer while my Coachmen 11.5' slide-in is in the back without any trouble but I use my own custom draw bar extension with a WD hitch. I had a 9.5' camper before that and I didn't need any extension at all - it all depends on what you are trying to tow.
