Advice on slide-in camper

I'm looking for a quality slide-in camper that will fit my short bed. I've gotten sales info on some units but would like to get comments from actual users. I had a cheap slide-in 25 years ago that wasn't much good. Any comments on the Northern Lite vs the Lance (or others)? Thanks for any help.

I've got an Arctic Fox, I know how we have to be careful about bashing vendors so let's just say I won't buy another one

I think my next one will be Lance or Bigfoot.

I had an 11'. 5 Fleetwood Caribu for a while and it was excellent. It was very comfortable and had tons of bells n whistles. Fleetwood is the #1 modular home builder and the craftsmanship and style of the campers are just as good. I only sold it because I moved and had no place to store it.
I have a picture of it in my gallery.......

i got a lance lite model 815. it is 8.5 feet long and weighs about 2000lbs loaded. i sold an alaskan pop up to get this one. i like it alot. being that i do not have a dually this lighter camper is no burden to carry, especially when towing a 2 horse trailer at the same time

I am happy with our LanceLite 845. Floor length is 8.5' so it hangs back 2' from the lip of my shortbed. The sticker says it's 2300# with water and propane. My 2500 needs airbags because it lacks the camper option. Anyway, I would rather have the softer springs for when the camper is off. I would, however like to have the rear roll bar. The CTD doesn't know it's there, but I lose 4-5 MPG because of the air resistance. On the road, it sways so that I think any bigger camper would need a dually truck. The 845 is big enough for two people if you're not fat, but has floor space so small only one person can get dressed while the other waits. I think this is the smallest Lance with a "wet bath" shower, a nice feature. Main thing I don't like about it is lack of storage space both inside and outside.

Go to the truck camper section of rv.net and you will see more opinons than you probably care to about different brands.
Lance and Northern Lite are two good brands, you are definately on the right track looking at those two .
Since you have a 3/4 ton the Northern Lite might have an advantage for you since it should be lighter than a Lance in the same size.
