SHURflo RV Fresh Water Pump
I was thinking about getting the SHURflo Fresh Water Pump. Camping World has an internet sale so I can get it for $62. Has anyone replaced their water pump with a SHURflo? Pro's / Con's.
Also, are water pumps all typically the same size. I have a 2008 30ft. 5th Wheel WW Superlight. I was not sure if the full size trailers have larger water pumps of if they are all fairly standard. Thanks for any input.

ShurFlow is a good brand. Find a lot of them in RVs. Most waterlines in RVs are same size. I've never had a problem with a ShurFlow pump and I have my 5th travel trailer.

No not all pumps are the same size. You need to look and see what the GPM is on the pump you have and get one in that range. Depending on your plumbing needs with dictate the size of pump you have.

I think if I were to replace my pump, I'd try one of the smart variable speed ones that doesn't cycle on and off.
Also while you are messing with it, if not so equipped already, they make a kit with two pieces of flexy tubing that you can install in a loop on either end of the pump- to prevent noise/vibration from being transmitted down the semi-rigid pipes.

A while back I got sent to a problem where a semi had bottomed out in a big dip behind a shopping mall. He thought just his landing pads scraped, but when he pulled over about a block away he saw it broke the fitting off the bottom of the refer's fuel tank... He crammed a stick in there temporarily, which slowed the flow greatly until someone with the capability of dealing with the problem could arrive.
The towing/emergency service guy showed up with a barrel to hold the fuel, and a Sure Flow RV pump to pump out the diesel.
I was amazed it would hold up to fuel, but he said they last a surprisingly long time. He said they often punch a hole the bottom of a truck's main fuel tank to pump the fuel out of an upside down semi...
