RV Makes and Models
Keep in mind that kids = toys. What do you do once you get where you are going. I have a 30' Weekend Warrior. Overall length is about 36' and the box is almost 32'. I don't know why the call it a 30'. It is great. I can put 4 dirtbikes and gear and two dog kennels in the back area and still have room to get around inside in case the weather is bad. Otherwise, when we get to the campsite, the bikes are out. I can also put my Jeep Wrangler in the back. If you fish, you could put a fishing boat and trailer in the back. Do a search on the web to look at the different models. Fleetwood makes the "Gearbox" models that are also toy boxes. They do not look like model homes they look like trailers. The weekend warrior is very sturdy. They hold up to a lot of abuse inside and out. Just don't buy from Giant RV. Their customer service sucks. It took them 3 trips just to fix the damage they did while they had my trailer. There is a long list of things they have done wrong but I don't want to get into it. Shop your dealer as much as you shop the rig. Good luck.
We just bought an Outback 26rs TT (made by Keystone). It has a rear queen bed slide out and a 4 bunk "bunkhouse" up front. This is a hardwall trailer equipped with all the bells and whistles (Novak in Calgary only sell them with all the options) and was had new for a very reasonable price.
