receiver Q

My truck has a ranch hand style rear bumper that covers the factory receiver, only by about 1/2 inch. Is it possible to run any sort of spacer to drop down the receiver or is that not a smart thing to do? Id hate to replace the rear bumper or buy a new hitch just because of an inch.

I'll look at mine tomorrow and see if I can figure out an easy way for you to do that and still be structurally sound.

Can you loosen the mounting bolts and lift the bumper with a jack to take up any slack in the slots?

Thats kinda what I was thinking as well. Its so frustrating, its only a 1/2" more room I need.

Trucks going to the body shop in the morning for some unrelated repairs, I might have them take a look at it while its there.
