I have 2 of these, both shipped for under $45. You have to use your own monitor or LCD but the wireless is perfect. Color or IR mode for the night. I don't have it setup yet, TT in storage but I'm going to put it in the back window of the TT and remove it for backing up on the truck. Magnet mount for both.

I am hoping to purchase a new 2500 next week. When I do, I plan on getting one I saw on http://www.rvcams.com . About $700 but could run (2) cameras. Waterproof and all that. It looks like the camera could be mounted next to the rear plate. The LCD fit near the floor on the hump. I only need one camera for backing up to boat trailer and better view overall. Radio shack had one that got me thinking this summer. For $200 you could do the same and they had wireless cameras.

Thumbs up

I went with RV CAMS about a year ago. Tim the owner is great to do business with and sells quality merchandise.

I have two of their Voyager cameras. One is black & white and one is color. Color is nice but not sure its really necessary as the b&w image is great. The Voyager cameras are built very rugged with good mounting hardware - SST hex head cap screws with aluminum camera body and weatherproof cable grommets, etc.

I use my system on my 24' horse trailer but could be used for many applications (fifth wheel, toy hauler, simple truck back up camera, etc). One of my cameras (B&W) shoots the inside of trailer to observe, as well as hear, the horses while towing day or night. The other camera is mounted at rear of trailer as a back-up camera. They both work quite well and are very handy to have. I did choose another Vendor for the monitor (XenarcTSV 7" TFT LCD about $380) so I could swap from my GPS navigation computer to camera #1 to camera #2. The monitor even comes with a IR remote control and the monitor is touchscreen as well. Works pretty darn slick!

A couple of cautions. The night IR emmiters used in most observation cameras are quite limited in range and diameter that they can effectively illuminate when used in total darkness (maybe 5' distance with 3' dia. area seen on monitor depending on how many IR emitters). I have to turn on one rear flood light mounted on top of trailer when backing by myself at night when there is no other ambient light outside. I've even considered hanging a cyalume light stick inside trailer at night to better illuminate inside (can't see entire trailer inside with just IR from camera). Also, the cabling can get pretty pricey when doing a dual camera set-up (splitters, AV breakout cable, weatherproof bulkhead connectors, QD cable, plus some pretty long cable runs to rear of trailer). I used the twin heavy duty QD coiled cable between gooseneck and truck which makes it very reliable and extremely easy to hook-unhook. However, it's probably a case of "you get what you pay for" when it comes to durability and longetivity when using a camera system on road and often in harsh environments (vibration, rain, snow, salt/chemicals, etc.). so, I didn't skimp on any part of the system.

I initially considered wireless but range and reliability became an issue when mounting to rear of long aluminum trailer as well as requiring one camera to operate inside closed metal trailer. I suppose that would not be a problem if one is just using a wireless system as a back-up camera on truck.

Hello again. You mentioned where you work sells this setup. Could you email me a link to that? How did the wiring in to the tailgate handle work? Or is it wireless?

By the way, thanks for the other deal, the floor installed easily and works great.
