Question on big dump trucks...pintle hook

I've noticed on the real big dumps...~18 yard dump beds, that their pintle hooks are always tilted by 20 degrees off of straight up and down? Do they come up straight when they load it? is this some sort of safety thing?

I have driven a number of different rigs with pintle hooks over the years and they were all straight.

It's possible that the one you are seeing are swivel hitches so they can articulate with out putting excessive stress on the hitch when going through ditch or other off camber places.
