Pump Loacation

I'm setting up the electric pump with a electric shut off solenoid also, do you put the filter before the pump/solenoid, let the pump suck thru the filter or do you put it after the pump/solenoid, pushing it thru? Mine will not be coming from a gravity point on the tank, rather from the top of tank. Thanks

i am installing mine post filter but I am also at a gravity point. to make life easier for ya, prefill the filter, that will prime the system and you will be fine.

ya I was thinking the same thing, prefilling the filter. I checked out the napa, filter base, pt# 4770, looks like that would work, are there any other resonably priced one out there? I see nothern tool, and tsc stores have them, but I don't see a mounting bracket for them.

you will have to fab a bracket. I am in the middle of that myself. was under the truck last night and noticed that my bed is dual drilled for different frame widths. going to utilize those 2 bolt holes in the left front corner to hang my pump/filter set up off of for the transfer pump, then also be able to hand the fass 150 to feed the motor. having 2 fass 150 pumps (transfer pump is pump only no filters other than the external filter I have for the aux tank) will be plenty lol

the aux filter system I am using is a BD kit made for the dmax trucks. did some trading out with a buddy here in town to install some goodies on his dmax. the bd filter kit was still brand new in the box.

where are you putting the fuel into, the big fill hose, or the vent line?

the 3/4" vent hose next to the fill hose. going to take the 2 end vents (1/4" line) into a "T" and back up to the aux tank to make sure things dont leak. also doing vent mod to the tank while the bed will be off. its going to be a lot of plumbing but it will be sweet.

I may put mine into the 3/4" line also, I will run my main tank down till 1/4, 1/8th tank, then turn the pump on and fill the main tank back up, in the meantime, look for a cheap fuel station. The tank is a 36 gal, probably just put about 32gal in it. I ordered a filter housing, and filter will be here tomorrow, have to wait for the electric shut off solenoid to get here, I'm hooking the power to turn on the pump and solenoid on at the same time, also shut off at the same time.

well I'm waiting for a few parts, but I temp hooked into the 3/4" vent tube, just to see if it would work, it does, but I notice some pressure when I take the cap off while it is pumping, can hear the fuel going into the tank. But I'm wondering about the pressure, anyone have this happen also, will it cause like a pressure lock or something like that?
