Question Prodigy Help

I just hooked up a Prodigy brake controller I bought from a member here and I have yet to pull anything with it but I wanted to ask you guys a question.

Since I hooked it up all I have on the screen is one red dot. I would have ecpected it to display n.c. meaning no connection. is there something wrong with it?

Sounds correct to me...my Prodigy does the same, the one red dot shows everything is fuctioning, no trailer connected. If you wired it correctly, it should show n.c. when you slide the hand lever to the left. Otherwise the n.c. only shows if a 'live' connection(with trailer on) gets disconnected. Or do the hand lever thing. Also, if you wait around, you'll see the red dot go out after 15min parked. If you see 2 red dots, that means all's well and you have a BOOST setting enabled(Boost 1, 2, or 3). One thing you should definitely do is go to www.tekonsha.com and click on Brake Controllers, then Prodigy, and download all the maunuals/instructions/literature(pdf format) and print it out. They also have a Quick Reference guide that prints about wallet size folded over to keep in the glove box for easy reference. All the website info will explain it much more clearly(and complete with illustrations!) than I can! Good luck with the Prodigy, and happy towing! :-)

Thank you for the response, I was looking on the site you mentioned but the manual I was reading said it should be n.c. but heck, if yours does the same thing as mine then I'm good to go.

Did you try sliding(or rather pushing) the hand lever to the left, to see if n.c. appears?
