Plug Guard

Anyone use one of these plug guards? They mount on your trailer and you put your plug into it, to keep it out of the weather and stuff?

I was wondering if it would be worth it to get it for my trailer since it sits alot, and I have to clean the contacts on my plug alot to get good connections.

I can't see that it would be a bad thing. Especially for the minimal cost.

If I parked my wagon outside I would probably get one just because you posted a link. Looks pretty functional.

I just lay mine over the jack handle, upside down. The rain and all just drips off the end. Having it sealed in something like that does seem like a very nice idea. Also most don't seal the end of the plug (end the wires go into) so water can go in that way if it's upside down (I siliconed mine). I like that, may have to get one.

Around here, dirt-daubers move in any hole that they can screw up and build their little mud-castles.

They will fill those little holes, in a six-prong plug, from the bottom to the top.

On some trailers, I have a dummy plug-receptacle that I plug the trailer-cord into, up under the nose, out of the weather; on others, I simply drop the plug into a bread-sack, or somesuch, and tie the top.

Little critters also like to fill up the vacuum hoses that control the brakes.

On some trailers, I have receptacles, just like the one on the truck, that I plug the hoses into; on others, I stretch toy balloons over the ends of the hoses.

We've got one on our boat. That thing is great! Keeps all water & dirt out of it when it is stored.
