Question P3 Brake controller- Overload?

I just installed a P3 brake controller and when i hook up my trailer it says "Overload No Brakes", that it detects an excessive current. When the truck is running I am putting out roughly 14.5 volts.

How do I fix this problem?

What size gauge wire did you use and did you install a circuit breaker between the battery and control? You are just feeding to much current or your trailer magnets are bad.

I just spliced the wires provided from the P3 wiring harness to the wires on the dodge harness. It is possible that the magnets are bad on the truck though.

If you have not hooked up to a trailer I would suggest something in your factory wiring or splicing is bad.

If you are hooked to a trailer, trailer magnets draw more current when they are going bad, which will signal this response with the control. A magnet only needs 3 amps no more no less.
