Optima Reds and Blues

Hi all, I am wonder who has had recently purchased some Optima brand batteries.

I am looking to get one monster Blue top (not dual purpose) marine battery and two new Reds for my boat. I remember someone saying they got them on the cheap at Costco, anywhere else?

Anyone have any positive feedback on some of the "knock off" or authorized copy brand spiral wound batteries?

Thanks in advance.

Check these out. We put two of these in my buddies boat. They are absolutely incredible batteries. We used the 2400's

As far as I knew Costco was selling "kirkland" brand, I guess it's more like a rebadge than a knockoff.

Excel is selling a dry cell (or?) spiral battery with the rounded edges and humps too now.

$50 is a steal, 9 months old or not.

Only 62ah on that one. I am looking for more like 160 or so (in one battery). I am running a minimum of about 8 ah with a 12 volt refrigerator and some other small stuff. No doubt the battery is decent, 1600 amps is pretty awesome, just won't last long enough.

Optimas are nice batteries, but for the price I'm not sure that a good brand name deep cycle AGM might be a better value than a spiral wound...

Trojan makes some large ones. This one is rated at 230 amp hours on the 20 hour scale...

Excel also makes some excellent deep cycles.

I've purchased red and blue tops from Costco and they were a bit cheaper than other places in the area. I've used many reds in cars and a blue in a boat. Happy with both.
