Reds Or Blues

I am wondering which batteries do yall think are better for our trucks the red tops or the blue tops?????

They are both starting batteries, but the blue tops are "marine" starting. I do not know what makes the so special. I have the red tops in mine, and with three years under their belt they still fire the mighty Cummins fast.

I think the blue tops are a deep cycle battery, good for long draws, like on trolling motors.

Optima's web site says the blues are NOT deep cycle batteries.

They are the deep cycle batts. Tey are designed to be run down and recharged many many times. Like running a winch or lights. They would be fine for a starting battery, but they add the deep cycle option.
