Newbie winter tower
I have towed a 28 foot RV trailer in the past occasionally on Holidays when the weather is good
with no problems but.......
Since I moved up to the interior of BC 2 years ago, we have not done any camping so I have not had the opportunity of pulling anything lately.
My Son just purchased a Truck on the coast and he asked that I pull it up for him next weekend as I am already going down for some business.
I want to rent a car trailer from Budget and all looks ok, but my question is....
Can or should I pull this trailer in 4 wheel drive?
The Coquhalla Hwy is a mountain pass that still is subject to lots of snow storms at this time of year. I have never pulled any trailer in snow.
What should I watch for and again, Can I use 4 wheel drive and not wreck my truck?
Thanks in advance

If its slippery/snowy and your are driving at reduced speeds you are better off in 4WD. Theoretically if you are doing 100km/h tehn conditions are good enough that you shouldn't need 4WD.
No its not, unless you are trying to do tight turns on bone dry pavement which would be bad to do in 4wd regardless of if you in 4wd or not.
Look at it this way, you go into a slippery turn, the brakes lock and the trailer starts to push the back end of the truck out(sideways), give it a little gas and the front end will snap it back into line. Been there, done that......... was glad it was already in 4wd.
