Re:New Trailer Came Today

That is a gorgeous unit. I have never seen a slide on an Airstream. Very nice. I am intrigued how they keep them from leaking with the sloped sides. Interesting. ??? Is it just the one slide, or are you hiding one on the other side?

Please be careful. My good friend just rolled his one year old 30' Airstream - - totalled both his trailer and his new Suburban. Not a pretty sight. Luckily no serious injuries - - sure messed up their plans. They had spent a month parked at our house (we have full hook up) - - rolled it the next day on the way home.

FiverBob,

If you don't mind me asking. What was the cause of the accident?

Wow, nice trailer! Is it a Safari or Classic? If you don't mind me asking, what did you give for the Airstream?

Re:New Trailer Came Today

Those slides really help, don't they. The streamlined sides have a tendency to close in the coach. The slide helps open it up.

You asked about the cause of the accident. They were rolling about 60 mph up I75 - - it was slightly windy but they were doing OK. Semi came up from behind to pass - - pushed the trailer sideways - - she was driving and lost it. He was asleep in the back seat. Sort of a tough awakening. Everything rolled three times and was still hooked - - it was on the passenger side when it stopped. The trailer was still in relatively one piece, not like the vacuum bonded sidewall trailers - - they blow up when they roll - - there are small pieces of wall everywhere.

Pretty unit - - I am sure you are a proud papa. ;D

FiverBob,

I hope they are ok. Nobody should have to go though something like that.

ctdair,

Congratulations! That is a great looking trailer. I'm sure you will be very happy with it. Take good care of it and use it for all it's worth ;D
