new here with questions (car transporting)

hey all, i'm new to the board but not new to cummins.. i'm thinking about getting started in car transporting. a buddy of mine said he can get me hooked up with the auctions. i went to look at a 4x2 SLT 6speed cummins the other day. got talking to the sales manager and he told me to go to a vw dealer to do swaps. he was saying that a few years ago people were getting 600 to go from west palm to tampa.. anyawy, any advice to give?

Right section . Wrong approach . These questions have been asked dozens of times . Do a search or just read back a week or 2 .

It all depends on what you wanna tote around???? I do automobiles, but my trailer can haul trailers too!!! I find my work at online databases and through auctions but auctions use online too. Customers will come to you sooner or later for more steady work but with online, you can plan your route were ya wanna go.

Is that 4K before expenses?
Even if his expenses are 2K and he nets 2K in 3 days, that's
still decent $$$ imo.

I am like you, I find the 4K hard to believe.
If it's the truth, I'm in the wrong buisiness.

you make more money going on the long hauls, thats just a fact. You can make your own route, go where you please. I got a mc so yah i travel out of state, but i havent started yet, im about 1 more week till start. Plan on spending alot of money to get this started, plan on having 10k mininum to start and that doesnt include supplies. I plan on maybe doing cali trip twice a month and maybe texas and back twice also. I will have a co driver with me that im gonna pay him 400 bills a week. But im gonna make him do instate work byhimself. Remember insurance is alot, my premium is 12k for the year, with 25% down
