Need replacement for 05 Ford

I have a fully loaded 2005 F350 dually diesel that I plan on replacing. It only has 13,000 miles but its time to go. I tow a 12,000# fifthwheel camper approx. 1,000-2,000 miles a year. It has a pin weight of approx. 2,400#'s. Can I safely tow this with a 2007 2500 quadcab SWB 4X4? I am tired of the dual wheels that's why the mileage is so low on my Ford and a local dealer has a few 5.9's on the lot. Ultimately, I would get a 3500SRW but that's not an option if I want a leftover 5.9 motor. Also, does the 5.9 have a EGR system? What is the unloaded vehicle weight of a 2500 quadcab, shortbed, 4X4? Any input would be appreciated.

Here is a link to the Dodge website to calculate the towing capabilities:
http://www-5.dodge.com/vehsuite/TowingGuide.jsp

This is what it spit out:
With 3.73 Axle Ratio You Can Tow 13000 lbs
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating(GVWR)[i]=9000
Payload[i]=2168
Curb Weight[i]=6832
Curb WeightFront/Rear=4194/2638
GAWR[i]Front/Rear=5200/6000
Gross Combination Weight Rating(GCWR)[i]=20000

While it's not listed in the charts, tongue weight [i] is also an important consideration

My 06 2x4 quad cab auto, 373 gears will pull 13,400 pounds, so i think the 4x4 will pull a little more, carrying cop, is around 2800 pounds, I pull a 8000 pound TT no problem, good luck

I know the weight guys will freak out over this, but with a set of Airbags in the rear of your 2500 you have all the same suspension as a 3500 SRW guy. Also, with a good slider, I would think you would be fine for pulling your trailer. Yeah, you give up a little without having duals, but if they are too much of a pain, why bother, if you are over on your tires, you can always go to a higher rated tire. No, the 5.9 Cummins does not have an EGR system. If that is what you want and they have a truck for you, get it and run with it. Guys are pulling trailers like yours all the time. If you feel safe and drive safe, go for it. Scotty
