My kind of load

Vegasmax , a member at hotshothauling.com says he stays pretty busy hauling 6.0 Powerstrokes to the shredder . He says some of the trucks look mint but are being shredded because of the CA Lemon Law . If he could get some pics it would make a great calendar !

Good pics but I was thinking more in the line of a Powerstroke being shredded . There's nothing unique about a picture of a CTD hauling a Ford or 2 .

That is true! Sorry I don't have any shredded pics of a 6.0 no, but I'd love to see some and razz my brother-in-law with them.

that seems like a big waste... they don't part them out???

not a big fan of strapping a vehicle down by the tow hitch and nerf bars

Was just thinking the same thing. That load is definitely not secure being tied down like that. There is nothing to stop it from moving forward in an accident or even under hard braking!

Wait 'til Jim finds out you were ready to haul his PowerBroke to the shredder!

Seriously, though - please tell us YOU didn't secure that load of POS

When I worked for Norfolk-Southern, we had a big autorack train to derail.

Many of the autoracks merely jumped the tracks and were still sitting upright; however, many were also over a bluff and crushed to pieces.

Once we got the undamaged autoracks back to the yard, an independent salvage company brought a big crusher and crushed hundreds of brand new cars and trucks.

They slashed the tires, removed the fuel-tanks, and let the glass fly, crushing every single one.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with these vehicles, except for the fact that they were documented as being on a train that derailed.

Management said that if they allowed the vehicles to get into consumer hands, they could be faced with huge law-suits, should later one be involved in a wreck and a lawyer discover that it had been "involved" in a derailment.

You just got to love living in America.

Yep, I'm looking at those straps too. There is no binding them back and forth just straight down. Also, those step up bars aren't worth much for a tie down. Those actually flex when you step up on them. I'm 170 lbs. and they flex when I step on them.

No freaking kidding!

DOT around here would have you fixing that on the side of the road right after they get through writing the ticket.

The tow hitch is one thing, but nerf bars is completely different. i could see using the tow hooks in the front and the tow hitch in the back to strap it down, but not something in the middle of the truck, especially something as flimsy as a set of nerf bars.
