I stop every night and wash off the frontal areas with just plain warm water on a soft cotton swabbie or cloth - I always figure that the longer they cook on there the harder they are to get off...
RainX the heck out of your windshield also. It will make them easier to come off. Take a squeege and some Windex, or any glass cleaner with ammonia in it, with you and more RainX. I'm a cop in a rural area and battle the bugs every year. This has worked well for me.
