looking at trailers

I need a trailer as temp living space and possible keeper for a later use. I am leening more to a 5er over a tag along. I am new to this and would like info on what brands to stay away from ( dont want a yugo ) I have found prices all over the map on used stuff but looking in the $10,000 range and have a few that might fit the bill. the tow truck is a 1999 2500 4x4 quad cab short bed auto 3:55 and a cummins of course. .I will need a slider and want opinions as to brands. and all advice is welcome and worth what I paid for it .

With a swb you'll probably want a sliding fifth wheel hitch and a smaller trailer since you have a 2500 . One thing to check with sliders is interior space with sliders in . In some the bathroom is not accessible unless the sliders are out . This can be a problem when stopping at rest areas or fuel stops with limited parking . People get real irritated with RV'ers using an extra parking space by extending their sliders .

I have a Terry 25W with the dinette slide. The BR is separated in the back and the john is in the hall. I looked for three months and came back to this one. Plenty of :walk-around" room and a breeze to pull with the Cummins. If you go with a tow-behind, be sure you get a good hitch, load levelers and sway bars.
I wanted the open bed for the ATV, etc, and it worked great. Now I have an ATV that won't fit the bed unless I take my tool box out.

well I did it today! I found a 1995 fleetwood terry 33 ft. and put a down payment on it. will pick it the middle of next week. in the meantime I orderd a 16 K reese slider and a prodigy controler. looks like I will be busy putting on a hitch next week . the only thing is I have to remove my top bed rails but I will make that sacrifice for a place to hang my hat. now I just hope my little 6 cyl truck can pull it down the road .

bill50cal, I'm sure that little 6 will pull it! Especially with the mods you got !
My buddy has the same year 4x4 as you and wants me to help him turn it up. Basically we will do everything you have except for the torque conv. How strong does your truck run compared to a 3rd gen one? We will be doing gauges , shift kit, 4"exh, hopefully a comp box.

I have not lined up next to a 3rd gen yet but I will warn you about turnning it up with a stock converter. DONT!! with the suncoast in mine ( it is the titest recomended without a box) it still get's loose on the stall with the box on 5x5 . I run mine on 2x5 most of the time and as I dont have a pyrometer yet I WONT tow past 2 as recomended. I have a freind that works at a f**d dealership and was giving me a hard time about how good the 6.0 powerjunk ran till he drove my 6 cyl. when he got out all he said was, it sure scoot's and told the other diesel tech the same thing.
