Looking for a certain ratchet tie-down strap

Basically I'm looking for a 2" tie down that has an axle strap on one end, and a chain extension on the other end.

Check out www.awdirect.com They are a towing & safety supply company that has just about every type of strap & tie down combination you would want.

But what is the rating on the assembly? I have several sets of ratcheting tie-backs that are 10K rated. I doubt the chain is rated 10K so it will be the weak link (pun intended).

Probably doesn't matter for most applications but if the friendly DOT Enforcement officer gets to asking.........

That's a good question. I sort of assumed that chain would be rated higher than strap, but that's a pure uneducated assumption.

OK, I got answers from the tech dept at truckntow.com. And I quote...."The Safe Working Load on the product you are requesting is 3300 pounds with a 3 to 1 safety factor. The 3:1 safety factor is a standard industry practice. It means the minimum breaking strength of the assembly is at least 3 x stronger than the safe working load. In this case, your assembly has a 10,000 pound minimum break strength and a 3300 pound safe working load. Regardless of the Safe Working Load, you should always secure your vehicle by four points for transport. This will reduce the risk of any bouncing or shifting that may cause your tie downs to loosen during transport."
