I have looked at the max brake site and no where does it say it is compatible with the elc / hyd actuators do you know if it is? That is why I went to the P3 setup..
I really don't know if you could use it or not. Just from what I know about each system tho, I would say you could. Whether it's a Max brake or another controller, they are both putting out variable voltage, so the electric/hydraulic system shouldn't be affected.

Just my 2 cents!

The problems associated with the elec / hyd actuators is on some of the older actuators the signal sent out by the controller to get the "connected to trailer" status would actually activate the actuator so you would get a brake surge while going down the highway. The newer actuators will not do this as they have addressed the issue..

I would still like to see pics of your walking beam torsion flex set up..

I didn't know that about the older actuators. Good info!

That's strange. Try the main page; http://www.backwoodsenterprises.com/
Go to 'Welding', then 'Trailers'. It's at the bottom of the page.

Let me know if you still can't get there please.

The first links showed the "forbidden link" message to me as well.
The last link worked just fine.
Nice work BTW.

That one worked.

I do like the walking beam for the torsion flex axles.. that was one of my complaints with them, depending on how things were loaded and if the truck / trailer tongue hookup was level or not your center of gravity was constantly moving on you..

From one builder to another.. Keep up the GOOD Work chaikwa !!

Yes, I noticed the original pics are now showing up in this thread. You're right... 'odd'!

Thanks! That means a lot after seeing the work YOU do!

I'll tell you, that torflex set-up with the walking beam rode like no other trailer I've ever pulled. You could go over washboard roads and big deep pot holes that would bounce your head off the ceiling, but when you looked in the mirrors, that trailer was just 'floating' along behind you. Labor intensive to build tho!

Here's an interesting link to a trailer that gets pulled behind an ATV. It has a walking beam suspension that flips over as needed to clear obstacles.

Here some Bud Light engineering for a 4 wheeler trailer..

1 The trailer is pulled behind the truck with the 4 wheeler on it.

2 When you get out back you can pull the trailer behind the 4 wheeler.

3 The trailer has inflatable pontoons and a propulsion system driven by the rear tires of the 4 wheeler for water crossings.

4 The trailer has a scissor jack / or cable lifting device to use it as a tree stand.

5 And of coarse a gen set for the electric cooler..
