Click the link in the lower left hand corner for a "review" Scary size trailer on a little truck.

Um - I'm definitely not a pro or expert when it comes to towing, but, um, if your truck is bottoming out and scraping the tongue when going over dips I think even I could probably figure out that the truck MAY be a bit overloaded for tongue weight... And if that 'reviewer' is doing this with a WDH already... That's one heavily tongued toyhauler...

Great - yet another device that'll let people hook up heavier trailers than their vehicle should tow... How many of these things are on the market now?

Unreal

I've never seen anything like this stuff. Who lays awake at night and thinks these things up? Tag axels are nothing new, but this Hitch Buddy is scary. What's scarier is what might be going through the guys mind that is using it. Drugs Man, Got to be drugs.

There was a rather heated discussion about this hitch buddy on the RV.net and how they have the right to use this stuff. As far as I know the DOT has not approved either of these for highway use and it took years to get some of these types of dolly designs off our highways. If the RVers keep pushing the limits of their tow units and number of incidents keeps rising they too will be doing mandatory roadside and scale safety checks as well as qualifying for a license to pull/operate RV's. If you are loaded enough to need that contraption, how long do you really think that 8" boat-trailer tire is gonna stand the racket??

I have thought about something similar but more like the ones used on semis. There are times I would like to be able to really overload my trailer and drive 85 along the local county roads.

Check this out Very interesting

The Results

Well it’s hard to argue with cold hard facts. This hitch made an unbelievable difference while towing. The trailer tracked straight and true and we experienced absolutely no sway while driving, even under poor conditions. The handling was first rate and we would recommend that anyone who is being “driven” by their trailer take a second look at this system. Prices start around $1,995.00. We realize, this is more than you are used to seeing for a hitch, but better is better and it usually costs more.

For more information regarding the PullRite hitch system you can contact their corporate office:
