I'm waiting on an 04 2500 QC/4x4 to arrive. I ordered it a month ago and the dealer told me to expect it just before or just after Christmas. I just found this forum while googling around for stuff to get for the truck.

I ordered the factory towing mirrors without seeing how they work. I was assuming that they fold near the cab when not in a towing mode and extend out for towing visibility?

Anyone know how wide the truck+mirrors will be? I'm hoping I can fit it in my garage.

 

Howdy, I was kinda worried about them on mine, but so far they seem ok. In normal mode, they are longer horizontal and stick out about 15 inches from the window.

For towing, they fold (pivot) up to become longer verticle and in this position they stick out about 18.5 inches from the window.

I can't get into my narrow garage door with them out, so while the truck idles, I reach out my driver side window and fold it in toward the window. This way it only stick out 7 inches and I then I can get into the garage easily. I just leave the pass. side mirror as is.
It's really not a big deal. Bet you can't wait for the new truck

 

They fold out as shown..they flip-in and become horizontal
vs vertical in extended tow mode....

 

Good news, I was hoping they'd fold in - and worst case I'd do that to garage the truck.

Yep, can't wait to get it. I thought I could be patient... but I was wrong. I'm driving a Dakota now and each week it seems smaller and less useful...

 

Here you go...still power and heated in the extended postion too !!!

They look like they will work out pretty well, hopefully I can fit it in the garage with one side folded back, worst case I may need to fold both in. It will be a tight fit in all three directions, but I think I can do it.

 

They fold in towards the doors...I have to fold mine in everytime I put the truck in the garage....I have the kids
pop them back out when you drive the beast !!!

Its a great truck...

 

The nicest part is they are wide enough to see around a 102" wide fiver in the extended position. I thought I would probably have to buy extensions with such a wide trailer.

 

You need at least a 9 ft wide garage door with the towing mirrors to be able to clear.
