How much space?

What should I be looking for in distance between bottom of 5W trailer and bed rails when setting up hitch and pin box? Truck is 07 2500 4x4 with stock 265 tires, trailer 08 Copper Canyon/Sprinter 26' 5W with max weight at 11K. Draw tite 16K 5W hitch with side-to-side and fore-aft movement at the pin.

Looking for some basic guidelines, just need enough to get her home and start learning!

Thanks

The standard is 6" to 7" between the bottom of trailer and truck bed rails, I'am getting by with about 5-1/2". If you are planing on doing a lot of boondocking the more you have the better. JMHO
