hitch grease

I grease both hitches and watch the stupid people get grease on there pant leg. Just another tax on the stupid. Maybe would be a different story if I had kids.

I always use wheel bearing grease on my ball. When I'm not towing I put a tennis ball over it to keep the grease off my leg.

I had read some years back what Harold G talked about in his reply. Rip off a peice 'o wax paper and fold it twice so you have a four-ply peice to cushon the ball-coupling hookup, acts like grease, slides easy, enough plys will take up any loosness and make for a quiet connection. No mess!!
