Do you have air-bags on your truck?

Depending on what kind of baler those 5'x6's came out of they weigh anywhere from 1,400lbs to 2,200 lbs.

I don't want to start a fight either, but you could make a 5x6 bale weight 500# if you wanted to. Not saying that I would, just pointing out that there are two many variables to say what a bale weighs without handling them. IMO

On another note, those are some impressive loads. I pulled one that was 2 deep and 2 high on my 42ft trailer. They were wet corn stock bales and was one of the most stressful loads I ever hauled, and I only went a couple miles.

The hay is Tifton 85 and the bales are very tight (sometimes I have trouble getting the spear in them). I really do need to weight one soon I guess to know what I'm exactly doing.

I feel your pain (w/ stupidity)

{people in ggeneral are stupid; I have resended my position as people!}

The longest haul I made with 26 rolls of straw was +-50 miles did that to hurry-up with a field

A few weeks ago I hauled 28 4X5 rolls of frost bitten wheat that was cut for hay for a friend of mine that was 150 mile haul. that payed pretty well !!!

No air bags. however I am looking @ a true air-ride spring replacement.

As you can see in my avitar, just 9 pieces of wood total. Never scaled that load. Hauling hay with a 44ft gooseneck scaled 32k that was small squares. Hauling hay on a 30ft gooseneck with to 12k axels with vacume over hydrolic DISK brakes average scale 34k once 42k that was 300mi loaded, 4 days a week for about 3moths. With disk brakes it was no problem stoping loaded, empty you just smoked the tires.

Does that load bottom out your truck? I have the Firestone's on mine and run about 30-50 lbs of pressure in them when I'm loaded heavy, works good.

Our bales run from 1600 lbs to 2200 lbs. I've towed some fairly large dozers, but only on the ranch and fairly short but rugged distances.

In 1989 I was working for H-E-B Grocery CO. driving a truck and Meat/Dairy loads were our heaviest commidity and so anyways when i got loaded at the terminal and got my dispatch reciept, I weighed in at the terminal scale we had at the company and I weighed in at 106,000 lbs. Back then the cost of getting an overweight ticket would cost less than running two trucks to cover the load so we risked getting an overweight ticket rather than wasting money on running two seperate tractor trailers. The Truck and trailer weighed in around 35k and the load around 71k lbs.I ran that load from san antonio texas to eagle pass texas and that is probaly the heaviest load i ever hauled myself and for that company.H-E-B now is the biggest supplier of produce/grocery in the state of texas.

I carry 5,000 in the bed, broken one upper bracket and it looks like the other one is cracked. Plus a number of sheared off bolts. Firestone air bags.
