Would like to know what hooks are the most popular? I'm looking to get a V- bridel. The one I'm thinking about getting has J,T,R hooks. Would this take care of most autos. Not looking to spend alot because this is for friends and family break downs.

 

As long as your family members or friends are not driving exotic imports the sling assembly you are looking at is more than enough. The j-hook and the t-hook are the ones most commonly used.

 

My chain hold-downs have all three on the end, but if you're hauling nice stuff rachet straps are the way to go, i.e., rachet hooked to a bed-eye to a double-eyed strap that loops over an axle. No marring...

 

Thanks for the replies. Are these V- bridels ok for pulling the autos on to the trailer with a winch?

 

That is exactly what they are designed for. I have them on all our I/H flatbeds
