Got my Lance home today!

It's a '93 8' 6" Model 300. In decent condition, most things seem to work. Been sitting a long time and is filthy. Slight cosmetic damage on the upper right rear facia where dude bumped into a tree and the back jack has been ripped off...somehow...but the damage seems to be minor, looks to be easily fixable. The camper shows absolutely NO signs of leakage, which is the main reason I got it. It wasn't actually for sale, but my buddy's girl has seen it sitting there forever, covered in mold and whatnot on the outside, so just knocked on the door and asked him about it, and here she sits! It cleaned up real nice with the pressure washer this afternoon. It came with all the books too. Included in the books is a diagram of the wiring plug, so that'll be real easy. (didn't have to plug it in to drive it home being a short model and has no turn/tail lights on the rear) Has the awning on the side too. 3-way Dometic fridge, hydro flame heater, hot water heater, pot/grey/black water tanks, extended overhang, etc etc etc...already wired for air, so all I should have to do is cut a hole and mount a unit up there. Pretty excited about it. Also excited I only paid 1500 for it as most of them around these parts that are in decent condition go for 5k+! Don't figure there's much of a way I can go backwards on it. I don't really plan on selling it tho...it's pretty much exactly what I want...this way I can still pull the car to the race track and the boat to wherever I wanna go without having to worry about trailer hitch extensions and whatnot. Well, just thought I'd share, and here's a couple pics. Any words of wisdom or advice are also extremely welcome as I have been riding around in truck campers since I was little, but this is the first one I've actually owned. Have a good one!

Conratulations!

Last month we bought an '03 Lance 1025 that's in great shape!

I've been spending almost every weekend getting something done on the truck or camper to get it in tip-top shape. So, the only time we used it, was the night we picked it up.

If you are not aware, rv.net has a pretty active truck camper board, like DTR.

I'm on my second Lance. My saying is I dropped my pants and bought a Lance. Great camper and well built but campers in general are way overpriced.

I had a 2000 1030 that I bought new... enjoyed it for five years. Now have a toyhauler. Am looking forward to getting another Lance in a year or two. The space in the TH is nice, but I sure miss the maneuverability and the QUALITY of the Lance.

Unless something newer and fancier comes out, I'll probably get an 1181...

Congratulations on the find! I used to have one identical too it. Too bad one of the front jacks busted loose one day and dumped it on the ground.

My only advice it to be sure you have good, load range "E" tires minimum. Don't ask me how I know.
