Gooseneck, Offset ball mount or offset Ball

I thought of this in another thread.
Any advangaes one over the other?
I really need to move my trailer further away from my cab.
What I am talking are these.
I see the Gooseneck end will give 7 1/2 inches, where the ***** only give 4

There's been some threads on these in the past, and I believe that there are folks using both the offset ball and neck to improve clearance problems.

I use the 9" extension from PopUp also and I have my ball set back for clearance.

does anyone have a photo of where the ball actually is located in their short bed? my problem with my short bed is that i run a large aux. tank in the bed and i measured it out according to b&w's online instructions and my tank is in the way. not much, about a hald inch. is there a way to move the actual hitch back? so i could install a gosseneck hitch, then run an extension with it? drilling the hole for the ball would cut into my tank.

You've got a B&W Turnover ball that needs a 4" hole in the bed?

Note....the B&W type moves the pin weight back 4"....The pop-up type keeps the pin weight at the hitch location.
