Good Shock

Need some advice on rear shocks. 05 Quad cab 2500 5.9 engine. I am looking for a good shock to improve the unloaded ride but at the same time help take some of the chucking out when I pull my 5th wheel. Any ideas?

4 new Bilstein shocks made a night and day difference in pulling a 11k tag, or 16k 5th wheel. They were a little stiff at first (unloaded), but now they work great loaded or empty. You may need a Mor/ryde pin box on your trailer to help with the chucking.

Bilsteins and check out Demco's glide ride system:

* Greatly reduces stress and fatigue at the hitch point.
* Maintenance Free.
* Doesn't effect braking or steering.
* Helps prolong the life of your truck and RV.
* Makes a smoother more pleasant ride.
* Up to 21,000 lbs. G.V.W.R.
* Models available for many popular late model fifth-wheel trailers.
* Call Demco for the proper application.

ditto on the bilstein's- www.shockwarehouse.com also check out www.fifthairbourne.com for a cushioned pinbox. if you have a short bed they also have a pin box to work with shortbeds called the "sidewinder".

Bilsteins for all 4 corners. Why just replace the rears?

I had Rancho 9000s on my 2500HD and they worked great. After about 2 weeks of "adjusting" them I decided I liked them maxed out as firm as they went. I didn't adjust them a single time after that.

I'm going Bilsteins this time.

Bilsteins are the single best mod you can do to these trucks. Ride differrence is huge. Buy 4, be happy!
The OEM shocks are good from the dealer until you get home.

Bilsteins are the way to go. I installed four of them this spring and it did improve the ride especially while towing.

I just added Bilstein 5100's to the truck. Can't really tell too much of a difference unloaded, but they do really work with the 5th wheel on the back. Money well spent. Scotty
