Furnace Problems

The furnace in my travel trailer will not turn off. The blower runs continuously (I have the fuse pulled right now), I can set the thermostat and it will cycle like it should but the blower will not turn stop. Any ideas??

Thanks

There is a sensor in the furnace that turns the fan on when it gets hot enough and will turn off when it cools down. The fan is controlled by this sensor so that it will not come on and blow cold air as soon as the furnace starts to heat. It also allows the fan to keep running after the heat turns off to get the remaining heat out of the furnace.

Any RV dealer should be able to sell you this sensor. Just tell them what it is doing and the make and model of your furnace.

EDIT: Just a further thought, are you giving it time to cool down after the heating stops? If you put the fuse back in will the fan start up immediately?

The dealers tell me to bring it in so they can be sure what the problem is. My thought is a limit switch of some type, I was hoping someone else has had this problem.

The furnace will run (endless) until I pull the fuse.

What specific brand and model of furnace do you have?

If you Google your furnace, you will likely find a page to download a free pdf service manual...

in my house, the furnace has an Auto-Off-On switch did you accidentally flip the switch to on instead of off?
