My front receiver hitch bolts to the frame using six bolts. I put it on because my truck did not come with tow hooks. The receiver hitch was less money than the factory tow hooks and I have more options with it.

 

I had a front receiver hitch on my ol 93 350 gasser used it allot....it worked great when we put our boat in the water....and around the farm to move hay wagons around....we had a stream on the farm that we needed to cross twice a year and the ol dodge always got stuck until we put a winch in the receiver to winch us across the stream
