Question First long pull....

Leaving Richmond, Va. on Friday morning to take my son to Cooperstown, NY. for a week of baseball at the Dream Park. It is a 500 mile pull each way with our Wilderness 300 FQS. All of our previous camping trips have been with about an hour from home. Truck fully serviced at 30k with new Mag-Hytech pans on the rear diff and transmission pan. Since changeover to Amsoil 15W40 in engine, 75W110 in the diff's and 2.5 gal. of ATM for the transmission service, truck now showing 16.0 mpg on the overhead on a recent 100 mile round trip towing the camper. Will do a hand calculation on the long trip to see what the truck is really doing. Wish us luck.

Good luck to your son. We thru together a travel/allstar team a few weeks ago.Luckly for us it wasn't to far away 75 miles or so to play in an tournament. It was for 11u, it was our first time at an all travel team tournament.Boy I had know idea there were 11 year olds an then there were 11 year olds that play year round. It was men against boys. In all the boys got a good lesson,a real good lesson indeed.

As I just got back from towing my 5er 3340 miles I know you will enjoy the trip. I was doing almost 500 miles a day at times. These trucks make towing a delight.

Thumbs up

Ram did great and averaged 13.5 mpg towing 9,500 lbs. @ speed. We had a great time and if anyone has a kid who has an opportunity to go to Cooperstown to play, do it.

13.5 is not bad. Glad things worked out so well for you.

Good for you in spending the time with your kid....... That is what all of America needs right now. ! I know that when I was a kid spending time with pops was the best time ever. No matter what we were doing it was great. I think that I can remember every moment of it from the good to the oh-no dont tell mom !!!!

On my last trip to Gettysburg 11.9 on the over head 11.8 on the calculator.
65 to 70 all interstate and a/c the whole trip. The only way to spend time with the family.

Gettysburg would be so cool! Neat stuff to all. My youngest is 29 so we have a few road trip memories also.
