DT466 is an International engine. One of the best diesel engines ever made!

Yes, if I wanted to haul more than 3 cars. But if I do change my business to either freight or cars I plan to stay in a one ton. I would haul 3 for at least a year or two and learn the industry. Myself I am worried about the economy and am not planning any changes. I also no a bunch of people in the car business and its really dead, so if the sales are dropping so will the transport needs.

Its not that the industry is dead, its just that time of year.

Well, and brokers do get cheap sometimes, you just gotta be creative. But yes, the auto industry sounds like its getting worse every year, but somebody has to transport these cars. Its the 2nd biggest industry in the world

As for the international, ive already talked to the people and filled out an app, Im just waiting for apporval and we shall see what happens.

ccoop769 , just for info for anybody considering pulling 3 cars with a 1 ton ..
How many times hauling 3 cars did your GCW go over 26,000 lbs . ?
As far as Medium Duty trucks being overpriced , a low mileage fully loaded used medium duty will sell for less than a new 1 ton . I know several hotshotters that moved up from 1 tons to medium duty and all say they wish they made the move sooner .

I bet his truck and trailer have a gcwr of over 26k, but if you are talking actual weight it would be close depending on the vehicles on the trailer.

I break 26,000 pounds just about every time I go on a trip!!!!! This deal being 70k I think is a wonderful deal, DOT sleeper, its safer, will last longer, and is just a tad bit more for the combo then what i spent on my combo. All and all, I didnt know what I was thinking when I bought my 1 ton. But, i knew nothing about the biz so hey, we all gotta learn somehwere.

So to the point, TO anybody looking to get into the biz who hasnt bought there vehicle combo yet, find a sweet deal like this!!!!!! It will be safer and you can tote more cars Now lets just hope my credit will fall through

Oh , I didn't want to get into this but are you SURE that's a DOT approved sleeper ? I know Chevy 4500's aren't but I know a Freightliner FL70 owner that did convert his back seat and get it approved .

The main issue is width . I can tell you by the picture that one isn't legal . I have yet to see a legal 3500 . Those "bubbles" shown by gofastman were measured by an FMCSA official and were determined not to meet the requirements although the official admitted they were so close some DOT officials might let it slide (but then again some wouldn't ) .

I just reread that eBay ad . They claim "the original owner just replaced this truck after years of reliable`service " WHAT ???? It's a 2007 with a little over 20,000 miles ! Still a good buy but watch these guys .
