Electric brake problems

I have a hayes energize 3 proportional brake controller, when I step on the brakes, no trailer brakes. When I slide the manual brake controller, brakes work. I wonder if it has something to do with my truck?

It's a pendulum type. Check to see that the pendulum is properly adjusted.

Sounds like either the controller bit the dust or it lost its' signal coming from the brake pedal/stop light switch.

My old Energize eventually started doing that as the potentiometer inside started wearing. The proportional braking never disappeared completely, it just got more erratic than normal. I limped it along for a while by changing the level setting a bit, so the contact would catch it in a different place. I finally decided I might as well move up into the 90s, so I replaced it with a Prodigy.

It is fairly new (2-3 months old) I will have to check the pendulum thing, unfortunately it will be 4-6 weeks from now, been in an accident and am unable to drive.
