Is there a plug to hook the electric brake controller to on a 1996 Ram? I have searched and found pics of a blue connector on 3rd Gens, but I can't find the plug on my 96 2nd gen.

 

Pretty sure the plug started in 2000... that being said I still had to hard wire mine as the plug was MIA...

My 96 had the plug under the dash just to the right of the E-brake. I think your truck has to have the towing package.

 

When I put a controller on my 96 a couple of years ago I bought a controller and an adapter harness. It was a plug in deal. The plug was between the parking brake and the steering column. I only drilled for the mounting holes.

 

Ok, thanks guys. I'll have to dig around and look some more. My truck does have the towing package with the 7 blade plug at the hitch, just couldn't seem to find the plug when I looked.
