Don't believe everything you read

"This angle gives you a good idea of how long three-car wedge trailers really are. The reason a Class "A" license is needed to drive this setup is because the length of the truck and trailer is as elongated as many big rigs."

I think I have that issue laying around some place. Oddly the guy that interviewed me at a truss manufacturing plant told me he needed a class A cdl was the 1ton truck and trailer weight mandated it for insurance. So maybe it has to do with insurance and legal stuff lol

CDL means Commercial Drivers License. If you are doing it as a business then you need one. If everything you are carrying is your private property then you don't need a CDL.

You don't need a CDL with a vehicle under 26,001 lbs. unless you are carrying over 15 passengers or hazmat requiring placarding . You do not need a CDL to operate a Dodge 4500 or 5500 if you don't pull a trailer . They underrated the 5500 at 26,000lbs. to allow buyers to avoid the CDL requirement .

That gets a little controversial . If you're making money you need a CDL . People with hobbies might not need a CDL (race cars , show horses , etc.) It's been discussed here a lot . Then some states like NY don't require a CDL for large RV's but do have an RV endorsement for RV's over 26,000 lbs.

New Mexico has the RV and private use endorsement for over 26,000 lbs - its a class 'E' license.

Up here, you need a CDL for towing ANYTHING over 10,000 lbs. The only good thing is that you don't need the air endorsement.

I haven't been doing much of anything the past month . I had surgery for prostate cancer last month (pathology reports indicate they got it all ) and just got the doctor's o.k. to go back to work yesterday . Drug test results will be in today and I'll be good to go . I sold my dually a while back and I've been working as a company driver pulling hazmat tanker . That has been better money but whether it remains that way is questionable . I know a couple of hotshotters whose business is picking up and they're turning down loads that pay well over $1.50 a mile . I'm keeping an eye on how things are going there . (Don't anybody ask where to get those loads . I ain't telling on the internet . )

I went to my doctor the other day.

He weighed me and measured my height.

He said, "For your height at 5'9, you ought to weigh 160# - you weigh 260# - you need to loose weight".

I said - "Really ? Let me see your chart. Doctor - you're wrong. This chart plainly says that for my weight of 260# I should be 7'5 tall ! I am too short !"

Guess it is kind of in how you look at it.....

Funny, my doctor told me the same thing. I, too, am 5'9" but weigh 215. He said "Somebody your height should weigh between 125 and 165.". So I said, "Sir, have you ever seen a man that weighed 125 and was my height that didn't look like he was deathly ill?". He said "No." I said, "Now let's do a body composition before you go calling me obese because you are the first to say that I needed to lose weight."

After it was determined that my body fat % was 12 and the average healthy male American is at 15-18%, I was simply told to "Not stop working out or whatever it is that I do.".

I would have had to of been 6' something and to be honest with you, I'm glad that I'm not for whatever reason?
