HOLY COW! What a difference a TPS makes!!!

Even out of OD, turning as much as 2600 rpm at 65, it is much calmer and happier!

On the way up in OD, it was easy to hold 2000 rpm at right near 70.

As before, the way I load the two drums on the truck makes the ride decent, even on the very worst of the worst road I've ever been on - I59 south north of Humble!

I topped off last night at the Shell, corner of Belt and Telephone Rd. at 1.37.

Diesel prices. 1.48 on the Beltway at two different Texacos. 1.47 & 1.48 in Splendora. 1.39 at Shamrock Cleveland, and 1.39 at the truckstop near Sheperd.

Could have gotten 1.35 in Alvin again but as I feel hosed (Sinus Crud) and ain't going much of anywhere this weekend I didn't bother. Oh and to get the 1.35 you need a Kroger card at the store on the south end of town.

So it was a great trip, and my E4OD don't feel like it's dyin' right now after all!

Re:Doing my normal tow Friday...

Got fuel again today for the first time after towing friday. Don't seem right considering my best EVER mpg so far was 14.61... but today figured it and came up with 13.59!

Just maybe in the case of my particular truck, running 2500-2600 rpm out of OD might be a sweet spot?

I towed north about 80 miles empty trailer in OD at 2000 rpm. 80 south at 2600 or so. 40 or so miles south with 220 gallons out of OD at 2500-2600 rpm, and back home in OD. Today drove down to Alvin and got fuel over at the Conoco at FM517 @ 646 in League City for 139.9.

I love reading about US 59, just don't like driving on it. Hopefully when they make it an interstate they will pave it. They might start with a dozer. The new sections seem worse than the old ones.

I live in Sugar Land and the construction sucks. Especially right near Sugar Creek. I filled up with 1.43. Don't know my mileage since I wasted half a tank in my driveway changing over to the Holley. :
