Does anyone have a front mount receiver on a 2nd gen?

I'm looking for pics and/or info on mounting one on my 98.5......my concerns are that I want one that hides behind the air dam - not hanging below it......and I want to make sure that it doesn't interfere with the DSS. Any pics or info would be appreciated.

I have a Hidden Hitch front mount and DSS on my '01. The air dam had to be notched about an inch .. about half the thikness of the hitch tubing. The reciever tube protrudes out front of the air dam about 2 inches. No problems with it's mounting and the DSS.

I have one on my truck. It is below the front bumper. A picture of my truck is in my picture gallery. You will have to download the picture and enhance it to see the hitch. You can see a chain clip in the image without needing the enhancement.

Putting it behind the grill sounds a little crazy to me....

I've got one on mine too. The dam had to be notched about 1.5 inches. It sits up real close. Someone done a good job. It was on the truck when I bought it.

Mine sits just below the dam, but had to notch the license plate bracket a bit.

I have uploaded pictures of my front hitch, waiting for approval. The pictures shows the position of the hitch vs the DSS. They also show the detail of the frame connection.

I have a draw-tite front hitch. it sits low, but you dont notice it because of the brush guard. Most of the time has a winch stuck in it anyway.....

I use it to back my horse trailer, car trailer, and boat trailer into their respective parking places. And sometimes backing the car carrier full of equipment down a narrow dirt road.

Front mounted recievers are cheaper and more versatile than tow hooks.

I will be using mine to move trailers around in tight places and to mount a small snow plow for driveway duties - the lawn tractor is getting the you-know-what kicked out of it trying to clear the driveway in the winter.....and also I will use the receiver for hooking, should I ever need it.
