New and empty mine was 7080 with almost a full tank. 4300 front; 2780 rear.

Mine's probably gained 500 lbs with all the "stuff" in/on it now.

My 01 weighs in at 7680 with a full load of fuel and tool box. I don't think my tool box weighs 500 or 600 pounds.

Its not that hard to fill up the truck with weight. From nerf bars, caps/deck lids, hydraulic jacks, jack stands, chain, air compressor, tools, extra ball mounts, etc. it all adds up.

None of the weight bothers me - and I still got 19mpg yesterday and today running 75 on the slab - my 'stang can barely do that at 75.

One of my customers is a metal recycling station, to get to him I had to drive across the scale so that when I leave they can tell if I stole any scrap metal, 7160# both times, with a 1/2 full tank. This was Tuesday PM

Mine was 7,120 with myself and a full tank of fuel...that was before I added my toolbox so I probably have 300-400 lbs more of stuff in it now.

Remember "Apples & Oranges" folks!!!...

Petei, the originator of the question, really needs to describe his vehicle, which will vary consideraby with options... i.e. ...

Quad Cab or 2dr.???... 4X4???... Auto or manual???... 'Heavy-Duty" susp./tow pkg.???... wheel style???... That's why the above answers vary considerably...

Weighing in on a good scale, I can tell you the exact weight of my 2004... 2500 Series... Quad-Cab... Cummins 'B' Ragburner... 4X4... Automatic... Chrome over steel wheels (much heavier than cast aluminum)... It weighs 7880 #'s with me (200), full fuel (245), canopy (100)... Thus 7880 - 545 = 7335 #'s net "dry" from the factory... Obviously, your truck will weigh this number only if built the same...

Cheers... ...Ted

No kidding Ted. All he has to do is look at sig blocks to see where the diffs are at. My factory fresh SLT shorty was 7080 empty. No need to subract any weights for correction factors. This ain't rocket science here.

I get about 15mpg pulling an 8,000 lb box style, two axle utility trailer.

I get about 19mpg pulling my 3,500 lb boat, single axle trailer.

Your mileage WILL vary quite a bit depending on speed and how streamlined your load is. I suspect that I could get very close to 19mpg with an 8,000 lb boat as well.
