d vs e tires

Hey guys lookin at some newtires because..... the load D range bfg all terrains i have lasted some 8000 with my trailer, its heavy yes, actually right at the tires limit, ( i have a 2500 with a rear axle weight of 5900)

Being the load e and D have the same weight capacity, do the 10 plys last longer?

i don't know if they last longer but at least im my case the truck doesnt move around as much with our 5er in tow. i am also right at my rear axle limit, in fact if i don't empty my tanks i am over by around 200 lbs.

Even though they have the same load capacity, an E tire is much less likely to be destroyed by the same load as a D tire. An E tire is much more durable.

if you took two tires of the same brand and size, one load range d and the other an e, the load range e will last longer and provide more stability over the load range d tire.

If I recall this correctly the sidewall strength is the difference. So that should correlate with stability and longevity. Never used a ' D ' rated tired so cannot comment from personal use.

If they only lasted 8,000 miles, something was wrong. The E rated tire is much more stabile. I've gotten as much as 80,000 miles out of mine, and had legal tread deapth left.

More plies, less flex means less heat and safer for loads and longer life. When empty will ride harder so use less pressure when empty. And If your truck calls for E rated tires and your in an accident because of tire failure I would be worried about Liability.
