Cross member/hitch receiver
Cross member/hitch receiver
My 04.5 Ram CTD 2500 came W/O the "tow package" and an aftermarket hitch (class IV) receiver was bolted on the rear cross member. Would I see much of an increase in towing capacity if I swap this out for a cross member/hitch receiver combo that was original equipment from Dodge?
Thanks

Here is a better suggestion. This thing is stout. I had my OEM hitch cut off to install this one....but left the OEM cross tube.

I did not have an OEM hitch but opted for the Putnam XDR and have been happy that I did. They have the highest hitch ratings that I have seen and you can use Putnam ball mounts that are some of the highest rated weights on the market and still use a standard cheapo 2" if you need it without needing an adaptor.
