Not sure why you would say he is over loaded? That Bobcat probally only weighs 7100lbs. I pull a bumper pull 7 ton dump with no issues and have run over many MTO scales with no issues fully loaded with 6 yards of crushed limestone.

What happened to that guy could happen to any of us in those conditions.

Most folks forget that bumper and under bed hitches have two sets of specs. One set, the lower numbers, are for towing without weight distributing hitches. The other set, the higher numbers, are for towing with weight distributing hitches. I could be wrong but I think a class IV hitch has a 6000lb rating without weight distributing bars.

You can be over weight in a number of ways, not just your gross.
