Brakesmart Install Help ?

I'm worried about getting air in the system. It says to remove the front brake line from the master cylinder & install the brass T fitting into master cylinder & put brake line into the T fitting. I got that. Now put pressure sensor into T fitting hand tight only & bleed air.
Q #1: Do I start engine to bleed air or not?
Q #2: Do I let the brake pedal go all the way to the floor before tightening pressure sensor?
Q #3: Is this the only place I need to bleed for air? Do I need to bleed at the wheel cylinder?
Brake work makes me nervous, so anyone who has installed a BrakeSmart please let me know.

I had no air and no problems with my install. I was a bit nervous about touching the system too. All we did was press down on the brake and let out some fluid, then tightened and checked the level. Topped it up...very little to add, loosened it off again, pressed the brake pedal down a bit and tightened, again added just a dribble and was good to go. Have one person press the pedal while another sees that there is just fluid and have them tighten while you have the pedal pressed. Then let off the pedal after it is tightened, top up if needed and repeat once more. Do not start the engine and only one place to bleed.

Its a lot simpler then you or I would anticipate.

I know of some people that did not even bleed the system. We saw no bubbling or signs of air when we pressed the brake pedal, just fluid.

Yup, what Scotty said. Piece of cake. Don't get brake fluid on your paint. I wrapped a rag around the fittings to catch the fluid as I was bleeding it. Maybe about a half an ounce came out. Very little air.

Yep the brakesmart instal was a piece of cake. I had a little air pushed out do to useing the short extension hose provided to mount the sensor away from the reservoir. Got to give it a 250 mile test run to the coast & back this weekend. All I can say is it is 100% better than the Voyager I had before. Can't really coment on the Jorden that Fiverbob is in love with. I bet if he gave this one a try he would'nt go back. I like the trailer slowing down & stoping as one unit just like my semi truck does.

Well, at least BrakeSmartlessBob has one friend. You might say the are both "mentally discabled". One trip with a BrakeSmart will cure them both. Right Scotty?

That's what am afraid of - - that is why I sticking with my Jordan. The cure is usually worse than the problem - - if you have a problem.
